The Las Vegas Raiders are one of the few teams still looking for an offensive coordinator to pair with the rest of their staff, and it’s looking pretty good so far.
Most of them are on the defensive side of the ball, with Patrick Graham leading the charge as defensive coordinator. Now they need an offensive coordinator who can fit the style of football Antonio Pierce wants: big plays with a great running game down the field.
They’ve interviewed several candidates for the job, but now that they’ve been hired by other teams, like Zach Robinson, who was Tom Telesco’s top target, it looks like they’ll be dropping one by one. Other teams could hire someone immediately after breaking news.
Former Browns OC Alex Van Pelt, who was named to the Raiders shortlist for the open job, will travel to Tampa to interview for the vacant Bocs OC position, according to NFL Network, NFL Insider, Ian Rapoport. To be honest, a job in Tampa is probably more sought after or desired than a job in Las Vegas. The Buccaneers hired one of their offensive coordinators as their head coach last season in Dave Canales. By the way, they made the playoffs and Tampa is a nice city, just like Las Vegas.
