Facundo Pellistri has slowly but surely broken into Manchester United’s first team over the past 12 months, but the manager is limiting his options.
Erik ten Hag has preferred both Anthony and Marcus Rashford over right-back Pellistri, and La Liga outfit Granada are said to be close to signing the Uruguayan. This was reported by local club Granada Hoy via Sport Witness, who said Pellistri will join Granada on loan until the end of the season.
A deal to bring Pellistri to La Liga is in the “final stages” and could be completed before the end of the January transfer window next week, according to the report. United are unlikely to have business from the revenue side to make up for the loss of Pellitri. Because the young winger is already a rare starter in the lineup.
United are set to play Newport in the FA Cup this weekend and with an hour to go all eyes will be on Ten Haag’s selection. If Pellistri joins the team, the possibility of the winger staying for another six months must also be considered. If it remains, it may be a sign that something is running in the background.
