The Las Vegas Raiders have yet to name a head coach, but there may be signs they know what they plan to do with the position.
Raiders interim coach Antonio Pierce represented the team at Martin Luther King Jr. A daylong parade was held Monday in Las Vegas, as did interim GM Champ Kelly. Most notably, the two posed with Hall of Famer and former Raider Richard Seymour. He confirmed on Sunday that he will advise the team during the recruitment process.
Pierce also spoke to KNTV during the parade and may have commented on whether his temporary sign could be removed soon. It may not be official, but Pierce certainly sounds like someone we’d expect to see announced at some point.Pierce may have reason to believe that.
He’s the favorite to do so, according to reports, and one of the team’s star players is threatening to request a trade if Pierce isn’t an option. Perhaps the question is not whether he was officially hired, but when he was hired.
